The Floppy Option is a versatile Floppy action designed to get a primary scorer open for a quick shot by offering a choice of multiple off-ball screens. Typically, it involves a player starting on one side of the key, often near the baseline, with the option to use a single pin-down or down screen on one side, or a double screen on the opposite side of the lane. This allows the offensive player to read their defender's positioning and choose the screen that provides the best separation.
This Floppy Option begins with multiple screeners setting down screens for a cutter who starts on the baseline. The cutter reads the defense and chooses one of the down screens to sprint off, receiving a pass from the top and immediately attempting a catch-and-shoot.
